Acai berry: a superfruit and antioxidant powerhouse...

A BLEND OF ANTIOXIDANT RICH SUPERFRUITS

Organic Traditions Antioxidant Berry Blast is a delicious blend of Blueberries, Acai berries, Maqui berries and Camu Camu berries. Antioxidant Berry Blast blend is a refreshing and nourishing powerhouse of nature’s most antioxidant rich superfruits. Blueberries, Maqui berries and Camu camu berries all provide whole food Vitamin C while Acai berries are a source of fibreand monounsaturated fatty acids such as Oleic Acid or Omega 9.

In South America, acai is used as a dessert ingredient and as juice and liqueur flavouring. Traditionally the acai berry was used to treat diarrhea, parasitic infections, hemorrhages and ulcers. In the general consumer market, acai is sold as frozen pulp, juice, and in various products from beverages and foods, to cosmetics and supplements rather than fresh, because getting them out of the Amazon with the nutrients still intact is a complicated process. The taste is often described as reminiscent of wild berries and chocolate. Although initially thought of as a weight loss aid, recent research has debunked that myth. Now it is generally thought of as a superfruit because of its extremely rich antioxidant content and high levels of omega fats.
